#Fahrenbruary Q&A: Graham Wynd – author of Satan’s Sorority (pub @F13Noir) @GrahamWynd @FahrenheitPress

Hello, hello, hello and hello! Welcome to the Beardy Book Blogger for Day 18 of #Fahrenbruary, the month long celebration of all things Fahrenheit Press and Fahrenheit 13. If you’re unaware of what the hell that is all about then here is a handy link to explain all:

Fahrenbruary? What’s that all about then? #Fahrenbruary @FahrenheitPress @F13Noir

Today I bring you a Q&A with Fahrenheit 13 author Graham Wynd. Graham is the brains behind the superb novella “Satan’s Sorority“; a dark, bloody, sex fuelled tale of control, lust for power, revenge, Satanic rituals and, well, more lust.

It’s great, great fun.

Here’s a bit of blurbage:

“In the fall of 1958 Sandra Delites is packed off to college in Connecticut after an ‘incident’ with another girl.

Her father thinks a small town university will be just the thing to straighten her out, only he hasn’t reckoned on the sisters of Sigma Tau Nu. Not just any sorority, their rites are bloody and the girls are hot – but not for the boys! President Trixie Faust sees a lot of potential in the newest pledge and Sandra is eager to learn: the thrill of the kill is just the beginning for these college girls gone wild.

Halloween will be extra scary this year. Forget black cats, you don’t want one of these sisters to cross your path.”

I posted a guest review of SS by the brilliant Matt Keyes for Day 16 of #Fahrenbruary and you can check that out HERE. You can also find a guest post written by Graham about the influences on the writing of SS… HERE

So, on to the Q&A: Take it away me and Graham…

The piercing, blood curdling screams rebound off the trees and resonate throughout the woodland surrounding your tiny cottage. Terrified you pull the sheet tighter and tighter around yourself as if that will keep away and protect you from the creature outside. As the howling and caterwauling get closer and closer you begin to realise those unbearable sounds may actually be words, that the creature is actually trying to say something. Straining your terrified ears you listen intently, yes, yes those are words. It, it appears to be screaming….. a blurb:

The monsters live inside of Kate Woodson. Chronic pain and a host of autoimmune diseases have robbed her of a normal, happy life. Her husband Andrew’s surprise of their dream Maine lake cottage for the summer is the gift of a lifetime. It’s beautiful, remote, idyllic, a place to heal.

But they are not alone. Something is in the woods, screeching in the darkness, banging on the house, leaving animals for dead.

Just like her body, Kate’s cottage becomes her prison. She and Andrew must fight to survive the creature that lurks in the dead of night.

The light shifts, subtly at first, but then, as if your peripheral vision begins to constrict, the light narrows more and more until only a pinprick remains. panicking you grasp for the lights as a penetrating cold envelops you and a voice in your ear whispers “we are here….we are blurrrrbbbbbbbb”:

“Becky Moran has built a career claiming to talk to the dead. A successful clairvoyant medium, a Cambridge graduate with her own radio show `Medium Wave’ and a team dedicated to crafting the celebrity myth – because Becky Moran is a fake. Until, one night, something supernatural, inexplicable, breaks through live on air as she is broadcasting. Becky Moran discovers the paranormal is real, the dead can indeed speak and she is being pursued relentlessly towards a battle for her very survival.”

‘This thing has no defined shape. Whatever energy exists within it, it cannot settle on a shape. The strands of darkness curl out and then wrap back inwards. The bulk of the shadow becomes concave, then bulbous, the height building in on itself but lacking any skeletal structure to wrap itself around. There are no eyes, no clearly defined head shape. It is creating itself from darkness, like a swirl of ebony ink dropped into a vat of putrid water, spreading silently….’ Continue reading “Medium Wave – Rose Zolock @rosezolock @rararesources @caffeinenights #blogtour #MediumWave”
